Connecting the Dots... Redlining and the CRA in the Community
Undesign the Redline Presentations
In alignment with the Program on Economic Inclusion, the Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland is hosting a series of events with Braden Crooks from designing the WE. The Undesign the Redline Virtual Presentation series will cover topics related to the history of redlining and its impact today.
Join us as we continue the conversation from our FedTalk: Connecting the Dots... Redlining and the CRA in the Community to learn about ways to undesign the redline.
At our December FedTalk, we discussed some ways the Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) can be leveraged for greater impact. The law was established more than 40 years ago to prevent redlining, the discriminatory practice of denying people access to credit based on race. Now, the Fed is seeking to modernize the rules it uses to implement CRA, so we are continuing the conversation about this landmark legislation. February’s FedTalk will focus on CRA ties to redlining, the impact in the community, and how people (maybe you) can address redlining and its consequences today.
A Q&A session will follow the panel discussion.
