Applying for open positions
To apply, you’ll submit your materials—a current resume and any other supporting documentation requested, depending on the position—through the Bank’s application platform. Apply for as many different positions as you are qualified for (the Cleveland Fed has lots of opportunities). You can choose to upload a different resume for each position to which you apply.
What to expect once you’ve applied
Now that you’ve applied, what’s next? Once you’ve applied online for a specific position, you’ll receive an email acknowledging our receipt of your application. Our recruitment team will review your application materials, looking at your skills and experience to see how well they match with the position requirements. If you’re chosen for consideration, a recruiter will contact you to schedule an initial phone screen. After the phone screen, you may be selected for subsequent interviews.
After the interview process is complete, a recruiter may contact you with an employment offer. If you are not selected for hire, you will be notified, and your information will be maintained in the Cleveland Fed’s recruiting database should you wish to apply for another position in the future. If you’ve been offered a position and have accepted it, the next step in the process is a thorough background check. Different positions have different requirements, but most require a verification of your education, previous employment, and social security number. In every instance, each new hire will undergo a drug screening and a fingerprint background check.
Once we receive satisfactory results from these various screenings, you can look forward to your first day on the job and a virtual new hire orientation.

Cleveland Fed economists publish high-quality academic research, conduct research-informed policy analysis, and support the Bank and Federal Reserve System through participation in Federal Reserve System initiatives, outreach that provides an understanding of national and regional economic conditions, and web content that offers access to research, analysis, innovative models, and key indicators and data. The department’s research analysts support the work of our Bank economists.
Working from three cities—Cleveland, Pittsburgh, and Cincinnati—our Cleveland Fed community development team promotes the economic resilience and mobility of low- and moderate-income (LMI) people and communities throughout our District. Economists, policy analysts, and outreach managers listen, learn, and capture insights from community members; conduct applied research and analyze data and trends; share findings and policy implications through publications, webinars, meetings, and conferences; and convene key players in community and economic development to inform policy, decisionmaking, and investment.
Our technology experts work in an agile environment to deliver high-quality applications and information management solutions on behalf of the Federal Reserve System and the US Treasury. Work ranges from application development and information security to innovative digital payments solutions.
The specialists in Financial Management Services ensure the integrity of the Cleveland Fed’s financial reporting to the public, the Board of Governors, the US Treasury, and others. They also coordinate the Bank’s budgeting process, provide financial and cost accounting information, and procure services and supplies to support the Bank's operational and strategic initiatives.
Supervision, Credit Risk, and Statistics
Cleveland Fed employees in Supervision, Credit Risk, and Statistics (SCS) assist the Bank in promoting the safety and soundness of financial institutions in our region, regulating the nation’s banking and financial structure, and enforcing laws and regulations.
Supervision and Regulation
As part of the nation’s central bank, the Cleveland Fed supervises and regulates financial institutions in the Cleveland Fed’s region. Our employees in Supervision and Regulation promote a safe and sound banking system, foster financial market stability, and support compliance with laws and regulations, including those relating to consumer protection.
Credit Risk employees provide liquidity to the banking system, work to avoid losses that undermine the integrity of payment systems or the credibility of the Federal Reserve System, and facilitate the implementation of monetary policy.
Statistics and Analysis
Teams in Statistics and Analysis support monetary policymaking, supervision and regulation, and fiscal agency responsibilities through collecting, analyzing, and ensuring the quality of financial and banking structure information.
Cleveland Fed operations employees keep things moving. Law Enforcement Unit
Law Enforcement Unit staff members receive specialized training and are responsible for safeguarding the people, property, and assets of the Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland.
Real Estate Services Group
The Real Estate Services Group supports the Cleveland Fed’s mission by ensuring a safe, functional, and healthy work environment. RESG specializes in capital planning and management of the Bank’s physical assets, including architectural and infrastructure projects, building maintenance, and business administration.
Cash specialists provide high-quality and reliable services to banks within the Cleveland Fed’s region through counting, verifying, and distributing currency and coin. They are supported by business and compliance analysts to ensure the integrity and efficiency of Cash operations.
