Engagement with employers is essential to understanding and meeting the workforce needs of our local businesses. The highlighted initiatives include an employer-led initiative that partners with the education, public, and nonprofit sectors to meet workforce gaps in the healthcare industry and an apprenticeship program among a number of industry-led sector partnerships developed to meet the employment needs of manufacturers. The need for employers to rethink their approach regarding talent development is also raised as an alternative strategy to consider.
