Geoff Marietta

One Harlan County

Geoff Marietta is the executive director of One Harlan County, a nonprofit economic development organization serving Harlan County, Kentucky. He is an entrepreneur, educator, and transformational leader working and living in the Appalachian Mountains of eastern Kentucky. Marietta previously served as entrepreneur-in-residence at the University of the Cumberlands and as director of the Appalachian Impact Fund, and he founded Invest 606, eastern Kentucky’s first and only business accelerator and pitch contest. His real estate company, Trillium Ventures, invests in and restores historic main street buildings in Kentucky such as 2nd & Main in Corbin and Moonbow Tipple in Harlan. He was named 2024 Kentucky Investor of the Year at the state’s Inno Fire Awards.

Marietta was born and raised in Hibbing, Minnesota, on the Mesabi Iron Range and attended the University of Montana, where he earned a BS in forestry. He went on to earn an MBA from Harvard Business School and a PhD from Harvard University.
