Senior Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer

Elizabeth Marengo is a senior vice president and the chief human resources officer at the Cleveland Reserve Bank overseeing the functions of the Human Resources Department and the organizational communications team to partner with departments across the Bank to attract, engage, and retain talented employees. She represents the Bank on the System’s Subcommittee on Human Resources and supports the work of the System’s People Committee.

Ms. Marengo joined the Bank in 2026, having previously held executive roles, including chief human resources officer and chief people and culture officer, for several organizations in the nonprofit, edtech, consumer packaged goods, global chemical manufacturing,  and other sectors. Most recently, she was chief people officer at HMH (formerly Houghton Mifflin Harcourt), a Boston-based provider of integrated learning solutions for K–12 students and educators.

She is a member of the Cleveland Clinic Marymount Hospital board and the board of directors of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society (Ohio chapter). She holds a BSBA from Kent State University and an MLOC (leadership and organizational change) from Case Western Reserve University.
