Can't make it to the Money Museum during our regular hours? The museum will be open for extended hours on Monday, July 8, (9:30 am to 4 pm) and on Saturday, July 27, (noon to 3 pm). Visit us for an afternoon of fun exploring the history of money, personal finance, and the Federal Reserve System.

Stand beneath our 23-foot high money tree, trade on the Barter Islands, try to identify counterfeit bills, and make your own currency! Experience our hands-on, interactive exhibits to learn about personal finance, economics and the history of money--walk in and see the Money Museum. Admission and tours are free!

Hours: Open Monday - Thursday, 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Closed Bank Holidays and occasionally closed for special events. Call us at 216.579.3188 with questions.

Money Museum visits are self-guided, guided Bank tours and group visits to the museum are available for organizations who schedule in advance with groups of 10 or more. Know Before you Visit

Visitors age 16 and older, must present a valid driver’s license, school ID, or other photo identification for admission to the building.

Please limit the number of bags, backpacks, or purses you bring into the building. All personal items are subject to x-ray screening, and everyone passes through a metal detector before entering the Museum.

Photography in the Learning Center and Money Museum is welcome!

Videotaping is not allowed anywhere in the building.

How to Reserve a Tour

When requesting a Bank tour, please send the following information to LearningCenter@clev.frb.org or have it ready when calling 216.579.3188.

  • Daytime phone number
  • Number of people in your group (A minimum of 10 is required)
  • Organization (school, business, group name)
  • Requested tour date and time
  • Location (Cleveland or Cincinnati)

Tours are available for organizations with groups of 10 or more, all visitors must be 16. Contacting the Bank does not guarantee that a tour is available on the date or time you have requested. You will be contacted promptly to discuss tour availability. Due to the popularity of our tour program, we recommend making reservations six months in advance.

Guided tours of the Bank offer guests an insider's view of this architecturally impressive building, and a look at the operations of the U.S. central bank.   • Dates Offered: Year-round, Tuesdays at 2:00 p.m. and Thursdays at 10:00 a.m.
    • Tours are available for groups of 10 visitors or more.
    • Only tours scheduled in advance are available.
    • Tours will be scheduled on a first come, first served basis.
    • Guests must be 16 years of age to go on a Bank tour.
    • Because of the popularity of our tour program, we recommend making reservations six months in advance.
    • Tours are typically limited to one tour group per organization per year.
  • Location: The Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland is located at 1455 East Sixth Street, Cleveland, Ohio 44114
  • Audience: Tours are available for high school (grades 9-12) and college students, educators, business and professional associations, and community organizations.
  • Group Size: Tours must have a minimum of 10 and a maximum of 35 attendees.
    • Student groups must include one adult for every 12 students.
  • Cost: All tours are free of charge.
  • Program Length: 1.5-2 hours
  • Cancellations: Tours should be canceled 24 hours prior to the scheduled date by contacting LearningCenter@clev.frb.org.

Schedule a Tour of the Cincinnati Branch

The Cincinnati Branch Public Education Tour Program is available to educators, school groups, and college students. During a visit to the Cincinnati Branch of the Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland, you will learn about the history and structure of the Federal Reserve, discover the role the central bank plays in the nation's economy, and participate in hands-on activities that illustrate key economic concepts.

  • Dates Offered: Year-round, Wednesdays and Thursdays
    • Only Tours scheduled advance are available.
    • Tours will be scheduled on a first come first serve basis.
    • Tours must be scheduled one month in advance.
    • Tours are typically limited to one tour group per organization per year.
  • Location: The Cincinnati Branch of the Cleveland Federal Reserve is located at 150 East 4th Street, Cincinnati, Ohio 45202
  • Program Length: 1.5-2 hours
  • Audience: We provide tours to teachers, school groups (grades 8-12), college students and community groups.
  • Group Size: Groups should not exceed 30 individuals (including chaperones for school groups)
    • One adult chaperone is required for every 15 students.
  • Cost: All tours are free of charge.
  • Programming: In addition to a tour of our vault, students will learn about the history of central banking and the Federal Reserve System and participate in hands-on activities
  • Cancellations: Tour cancellations must be made 24 hours prior to the scheduled tour date by contacting LearningCenter@clev.frb.org.

Directions to the Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland

From Public Square/Tower City:

Cross Public Square north-east to Superior Avenue. Walk three blocks east on Superior Avenue. Turn left on East Sixth Street. The Bank is on your right.

From the south via I-480 west and I-77:

Take I-77 north and exit at East 14th Street Follow East 14th Street and turn left on Prospect Avenue then right on East Ninth Street Turn left on Rockwell Avenue, left on East Sixth Street. The Bank is on your left.

From the south, airport, and I-480 east via I-71:

Take I-71 north and exit at East Ninth Street Travel north on East Ninth Street and turn left onto Rockwell Avenue Turn left on East Sixth Street. The Bank is on your left.

From the west via I-90:

Take I-90 east and exit at East Ninth Street. Travel north on East Ninth Street and turn left onto Rockwell Avenue, and left on East Sixth Street. The Bank is on your left.

From the northeast via I-90:

Take I-90 west and keep right to continue on OH-2 west. Take the East Ninth Street exit and turn left onto East Ninth Street, and turn right onto Rockwell Avenue, left onto East Sixth Street. The bank is on your left.

Parking

Public parking lots and garages are available around East Ninth Street. The Bank cannot validate parking passes. Drivers who stay with their buses may park on Rockwell Avenue between East Sixth Street and East Ninth Street.
