Federal Reserve System High School Fed Challenge

An educational program and academic competition for students in grades 9 to 12 to learn more about economics while promoting an interest in studying and pursuing a career in the field. Registration is open for this year’s program.

Program summary

The Federal Reserve System High School Fed Challenge welcomes students from all over the country to participate. The High School Fed Challenge encourages students to work as a team to conduct research that will be evaluated by Federal Reserve System staff. Selected podcast scripts will have the opportunity to be published in the Journal of Future Economists.

This competition allows students to build skills that economists utilize in their day-to-day roles, such as research, data literacy, critical thinking, and analytical writing.
