Are you thinking about jobs or transferable skills, or maybe interested in career exploration, but not sure where to start? Or you like your current position, but you want to start planning for your future?

The Occupational Mobility Explorer Tool developed by the Philadelphia and Cleveland Federal Reserve Banks provides information on career pathways within the US labor market.

To utilize the tool, start by choosing a US location and job title. Build a career path by exploring the skills needed for that job and how they overlap with skills needed for similar roles, potentially with higher pay in the same local job market.

Or start with a desired destination occupation and trace a potential career path backwards by exploring necessary skills needed for that dream occupation and connecting to other jobs along that career ladder.

The OME tool will also provide resources to help you search for jobs in your area and build a skill-based resume.

The tool also provides relevant data based off your chosen US location, such as the desired skills for that metropolitan area and potential median wage, and how in-demand those careers are.
