Cleveland Fed Announces Officer Appointments

Todd Berardinelli has been promoted to vice president of Risk Management. In this role, he will continue to provide strategic oversight, coordination, and support of risk management and COSO (the Committee of Sponsoring Organizations of the Treadway Commission). Mr. Berardinelli will assume additional leadership responsibilities for the Bank’s business continuity programs.

He began his career at the Cleveland Fed in 1995 as a financial analyst in the Statistics and Analysis Department. Since then, he has held roles of increasing responsibility and complexity. He has managed the discount window and payments systems risk functions within the Credit Risk Management Department, been responsible for developing and leading the Bank’s innovation program, and provided oversight for the Continuous Improvement Department.

Mr. Berardinelli holds a BSBA in finance from John Carroll University and is a graduate of the ABA Stonier Graduate School of Banking held at Georgetown University.

Erin Bores has been promoted to assistant vice president of Resilience Central, the new Federal Reserve System resilience support center. In this role, she will be responsible for developing and implementing System-level crisis-management strategies, training, and exercises; engaging with District, national business-line, and subcommittee business partners to enhance the System’s resilience posture; and supporting the System Crisis Management Team.

She joined the Cleveland Fed in 2018 and was named manager of the Business Continuity Department in 2020. Prior to that role, she was director of disaster logistics for XPO Logistics and held various emergency-management roles in state and local government.

Ms. Bores holds a BSBA from The Ohio State University and an MPH from New York University.

Theresa Polachek has been appointed vice president of communications in the People, Culture, Communications, and Engagement (PCCE) Department. In this role, she will lead the department’s communications teams—employee communications and editorial services, executive communications, external and government relations, digital strategy, and marketing.

She joins the Cleveland Fed from Swagelok, where she worked for the past 15 years, including four years as the vice president of corporate communications. Previously, she was an account executive and account planner at akhia communications. She is a board member of the Tri-C Foundation and the American Heart Association’s Cleveland Division.

Ms. Polachek holds a BA in communications from John Carroll University and an accreditation in public relations (APR) from the Public Relations Society of America.
