Building a Resilient Workforce: Join us for a virtual discussion with Fed Chair Jerome Powell

The Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland will host a virtual discussion on building a resilient workforce during the COVID-19 era on June 19 from 1:00–2:30 pm, ET. The event will feature a conversation between Chair of the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System Jerome Powell, Cleveland Fed President and CEO Loretta J. Mester, and representatives from the community of Youngstown, Ohio.

The discussion will focus on the impacts of COVID-19 on the Youngstown-area workforce and on the ways that regions can build the resiliency needed for their households, businesses, and workers to better recover from economic shocks.

The panelists will include:

  • Jessica Borza, Executive Director, Mahoning Valley Manufacturers Coalition
  • Sarah Boyarko, Chief Operating Officer, Youngstown Warren Regional Chamber
  • Jamael Tito Brown, Mayor, City of Youngstown
  • Jim Tressel, President, Youngstown State University
  • Carmella Williams, Director of Diversity and Inclusion, Youngstown Business Incubator and Founder, Carmella Marie Inc.

The Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland is one of 12 regional Reserve Banks that along with the Board of Governors in Washington DC comprise the Federal Reserve System. Part of the US central bank, the Cleveland Fed participates in the formulation of our nation’s monetary policy, supervises banking organizations, provides payment and other services to financial institutions and to the US Treasury, and performs many activities that support Federal Reserve operations System-wide.
