Local educators to participate in town hall with Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell

Educators and students from Greater Cincinnati and Pittsburgh will participate in watch parties at the Cincinnati Branch of the Cleveland Fed and the Allegheny Intermediate Unit.

Watch live on February 6, 2019, at 7:00 pm ET as Federal Reserve Board Chairman Jerome Powell addresses educators from across the US via webcast. After brief remarks about the mission and responsibilities of the Federal Reserve, Powell will respond to questions submitted by teachers who are participating in watch parties held at Federal Reserve offices. Among those participating in an educational program being held at the Cincinnati Branch of the Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland are educators and students from Goshen High School in Goshen, Ohio; Springboro High School in Springboro, Ohio; Campbell County High School in Alexandria, Kentucky; Mason City High School in Mason, Ohio; Walnut Hills High School in Cincinnati, Ohio; The Ohio State University, and Xavier University.

Participants for the Pittsburgh educational program include educators and students from North Allegheny School District in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; North Hills School District in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; Peters Township High School in McMurray, Pennsylvania; Westinghouse Arts Academy Charter School in Wilmerding, Pennsylvania; and Duquesne University.

The Cleveland Fed’s program for educators will begin at 5:00 pm with presentations by the Bank’s staff, followed by dinner and the “Conversation with the Chairman.”
