Students from Ohio and western PA colleges showcase their economic research at May 2 competition

On Friday, May 2, 2014, fourteen students from Ohio and western Pennsylvania colleges will showcase their economic research in the main lobby of the Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland, as part of a poster competition sponsored by the Cleveland Reserve Bank and The University of Akron Department of Economics.

The students will have the opportunity to talk – and network – with economists and analysts from the Cleveland Fed, who will be reviewing their work and selecting three gift-card winners. Prizes will be awarded based on the quality of the research and its presentation. The students' research covers a variety of timely topics including healthcare, gun control, and employment success.

The students participating in the competition attend Allegheny College in Meadville, Pennsylvania; Case Western Reserve University, in Cleveland, Ohio; Marietta College, in Marietta, Ohio; Oberlin College, in Oberlin, Ohio; The University of Akron, in Akron, Ohio; and Washington & Jefferson College in Washington, Pennsylvania. (Students’ names available upon request.)

The Cleveland Fed has been partnering with The University of Akron Department of Economics to host the competition since 2009.
