Internships

Serve the nation’s economy: Intern here.

At the Cleveland Fed, you’ll gain valuable experience in your selected field and grow your professional network through events, professional development opportunities, and volunteer projects. Our intern program incorporates academic endeavors with hands-on work to provide an immersive experience. As a student intern, you’ll also have a professional mentor to help you make the most of your time at the Bank.

Who should apply

Are you a full-time college student eager to develop professionally? A paid internship at the Cleveland Fed might be right for you.

We’re looking for collaborative and innovative full-time students entering their sophomore year or beyond. Our student interns work 40 hours per week for the duration of a 10- to 12-week internship that starts as early as May and ends as late as September, depending on student schedules. To apply, you should be able to demonstrate excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication, and technical skills and have at least one semester of college remaining after your internship ends. Additional qualifications are outlined in individual internship postings.

Note: Relatives of current employees or of Cleveland Fed directors will not be considered for internships.

What majors we consider

The Cleveland Fed’s internship opportunities vary from the technical to the analytical to the creative. To fill these roles, we seek students with equally varied academic backgrounds, with fields of study that include accounting and finance, business, communications, digital media, computer science and ITS, human resources, political or social science, economics, statistics, journalism, and public relations.
