The Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) for Community Based Organizations

This session is designed for those with limited knowledge of CRA but are eager to learn about the exam process. Basic concepts and principles of the CRA will be covered, including:

  • What is the performance context?
  • How is community development defined in the law?
  • What are the different standards for different sized banks?
  • What qualifies for CRA consideration?

Additionally, Home Mortgage Disclosure Act (HMDA) data trends in Cuyahoga County will be presented to provide some context for mortgage lending activity in the county. The session will conclude with a panel discussion among community development and banking professionals with practical experience leveraging CRA in LMI communities and examining bank performance.

Cost: This program is free of charge, but seats are limited.
