Lara Loewenstein is a research economist at the Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland. She is an applied microeconomist whose current research focuses on residential and commercial real estate and mortgage markets.

Prior to joining the Bank, Dr. Loewenstein was a research associate in the research department of the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston.

Dr. Loewenstein obtained her BS in mathematics from University of California, Los Angeles, Graduate Diploma in international relations and economics, SAIS at Johns Hopkins, MS and PhD in international economics and finance from Brandeis University.
