Yuliya Demyanyk

Senior Research Economist

Yuliya Demyanyk is a senior research economist in the Research Department of the Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland. She is a member of the household finance section of the Banking Policy and Analysis Group, which conducts research on regulatory policy and banking issues and provides advice on financial policy formulation. Dr. Demyanyk specializes in research related to household finance, mortgage markets, financial intermediation, and banking regulation.

Before joining the Cleveland Reserve Bank in 2008, Dr. Demyanyk was an economist in the Banking Supervision and Regulation Department at the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis. She serves as an adjunct professor of finance at the Weatherhead School of Management at Case Western Reserve University. Dr. Demyanyk previously taught at Washington University in St. Louis and at the University of Houston.

Born in Ukraine, Dr. Demyanyk earned an MA in economics from the National University of Kyiv-Mohyla Academy, Economic Education and Research Consortium (EERC) in Kiev, Ukraine, and an MA in physics from the Odessa National University. She received a PhD in economics from the University of Houston.
