Danny Dollar Academy

In partnership with our partners at Northern Kentucky University’s Econ Center, the Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland presents Danny Dollar Academy, our signature award-winning financial literacy and ELA program for 3rd to 5th grade students.

More than 3,000 students from Ohio to Mississippi enrolled in our virtual academy for the 2020-21 cohort. This year’s participating schools had the opportunity to participate in live Q&A sessions with the book’s author, Ty Allan Jackson. Students and teachers tuned in and listened as Ty shared his story, the history behind the book and his entrepreneurial journey. Click here to watch the replays.

We also want to thank our students who submitted their individual reflections about participating in this year’s virtual Danny Dollar Academy. Check them out on our YouTube channel.

Students were asked to share their Danny Dollar experience in the form of classroom business ideas. Check out our top 3 classroom videos and vote on your favorite! The school with the most votes will receive a 1:1 virtual classroom visit with Danny Dollar author Ty Allan Jackson!

About Danny Dollar Academy




Danny Dollar Academy is a financial literacy program that promotes entrepreneurship, personal finance, civic responsibility and smart financial decision-making in grades 3, 4 and 5. The program is based on the best-selling children’s book Danny Dollar Millionaire Extraordinaire: Lemonade Escapade.

In partnership with Danny Dollar author, Ty Allen Jackson, the Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland has developed social studies and financial literacy lesson plans, which are aligned to Kentucky and Ohio state Jump$tart standards. Our Danny Dollar Academy curriculum is also aligned our Great Minds Think: A New Guide to Money workbook.

As part of the program, participating schools will:

  • Attend a virtual professional development session
  • Complete online pre- and post-teacher and student assessments
  • Receive a suite of curriculum
  • Participate in a live Q&A session with the book’s author
  • Complete a student-led video project that utilizes the financial literacy and entrepreneurship concepts learned throughout the program.

Participation for in this program is free for students and teachers. This program is also available for home-based educators and after-school programs.
