Secondary Mortgage Market Activity

Mortgage originators tend to sell their fixed-rate loans to secondary-market agencies, while holding their adjustable-rate mortgages in their portfolios. As a result, secondary market activity generally drops off when adjustable-rate mortgages gain popularity.
