President Mester sketches out case for staying on path of interest rate increases in Wall Street Journal interview

Cleveland Fed President Loretta J. Mester said solid economic growth, low unemployment, and inflation nearing target levels offer a "compelling" argument for sticking with the Fed's current course of gradual rate rises. Mester laid out her monetary policy views in a July 11 interview at the Cleveland Fed with Journal reporter Nick Timiraos.
