A field trip to the Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland’s Learning Center and Money Museum is the perfect companion to your curriculum for K–12 and university students. Both in-person and virtual opportunities are offered at our Cleveland Bank and Cincinnati branch.

Virtual field trips
- All virtual visits are conducted through Zoom, Google Meets, Microsoft Teams, or Webex. Participant links will be shared with the field trip coordinator prior to the experience. Setups can be adjusted to meet technology needs.
- Virtual field trips are compatible with virtual, in-person, or hybrid classrooms.
- Visits are conducted Monday–Thursday at 10 am and 1 pm (exceptions can be made).
- Educators will need access to a PC with a functioning camera and microphone as well as internet connectivity.
- Prior to your scheduled experience, a test call is conducted to ensure there are no connectivity issues.
- Activities are shared with educators prior to the visit.
Schedule a field trip in Cleveland

The Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland’s building—a national historic landmark—stands as a monument to the superb craftsmanship and prosperity of the post-World War I era. Field trips offer students an insider’s view of this impressive building as well as a look at the operations of the United States’ central bank.
Request a field trip today through our scheduling tool. Field trips are scheduled on a first-come, first-served basis.
- Location: The Learning Center and Money Museum at the Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland is located at 1455 East Sixth Street, Cleveland, Ohio 44114. Visitors will enter at the Superior Avenue entrance.
- Availability: Field trips are available on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursdays at 9:30 am or 12:30 pm (EST) (start time is flexible). Currently there is only one field trip available per week.
- Cost: All field trips are free of charge.
- Program length: 1–1.5 hours.
- Audience: Field trips are provided to teachers, school groups (grades K–12), and university students.
- Group size: Groups should have a minimum of 10 and should not exceed 35 individuals.
- Chaperones: Grades K-5 are required to have one chaperone per every 6 students and grades 6-12 must have one chaperone per every 10 students.
- Safety Guidelines: Masked are encouraged when visiting the museum.
- Before Your Field Trip: Rosters must be emailed to learningcenter@clev.frb.org two weeks prior to your visit. Two pre-visit calls take place prior to the field trip, one with the educator, and another with the class.
- Cancelations: Field trip cancellations must be made 48 hours prior to the scheduled date by contacting learningcenter@clev.frb.org.
Notice: The Cleveland Fed’s Learning Center and Money Museum will be closed when COVID-19 cases in Cuyahoga County are at a high level, as listed on the CDC website . In this scenario each group will be contacted to reschedule their visit.

Public parking lots and garages are available around East 9th Street. The Bank cannot validate parking passes. Drivers who stay with their buses may park on Rockwell Avenue between East 6th and East 9th Streets.
- From Public Square/Tower City
- Cross Public Square northeast to Superior Avenue. Walk three blocks east on Superior Avenue.
- From the south via I-480 west and I-77
- Take I-77 north and exit at East 14th Street. Follow East 14th Street and turn left on Prospect Avenue and right on East 9th Street. Turn left on Rockwell Avenue, left on East 6th Street, and left on Superior Avenue.
- From the south, airport, and I-480 east via I-71
- Take I-71 north and exit at East 9th Street. Travel north on East 9th Street and turn left onto Rockwell Avenue. Turn left on East 6th Street and left on Superior Avenue.
- From the west via I-90
- Take I-90 east and exit at East 9th Street. Travel north on East 9th Street and turn left onto Rockwell Avenue. Turn left on East 6th Street and left on Superior Avenue.
- From the northeast via I-90
- Take I-90 west and keep right to continue on OH-2 west. Take the East 9th Street exit and turn left onto East 9th Street. Turn right onto St. Clair Avenue, left onto East 6th Street, and left onto Superior Avenue.
- From Public Square/Tower City

- Please plan to arrive no more than 15 minutes prior to your scheduled time for security screening.
- There is no on-site parking. We suggest parking at the paid lot at West 3rd Street and Rockwell.
- Please enter via our Superior Avenue entrance.
- The group leader should go directly into the building as directed by the Bank’s law enforcement staff for check in. The leader must have an accurate count of teachers, chaperones, and guests.
- Visitors that are 16 and over must present a valid driver’s license, school ID, or similar authorized photo identification.
- All Bank visitors are required to pass through a metal detector before entering the Bank. We strongly recommend that your group members refrain from bringing into the Bank personal property such as bags, backpacks, purses, and similar items. All such items that are brought into the Bank will be subject to X-ray scanning. No weapons of any kind or video equipment are allowed on the premises. Individuals carrying these or other prohibited items will be denied access to the building.

- Students must always stay with their assigned group/chaperone.
- Food, beverages, and gum are not allowed. Please leave them on the busses or dispose of them in the receptacles before entering the building.
- Please silence cell phones.
- Any individual or group whose behavior is disruptive will be asked to leave the building.
- Photos are ONLY permitted in the Money Museum and the Historic Main Lobby. Anyone using a camera outside of those areas may be asked to leave the building immediately.

One adult chaperone is required for every 6 students in grades K-5 and one adult chaperone is required for every 10 students for grades 6-12. Chaperones are responsible for their students’ behavior and adherence to the guidelines while visiting.

- Teachers and chaperones are responsible for maintaining discipline as you would in the classroom.

During a visit to the Cincinnati Branch of the Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland, students will learn about the functions of the Federal Reserve System, participate in hands-on activities, and tour the Branch’s cash operations.
Request a tour today through our scheduling tool. Tours will be scheduled on a first-come, first-served basis.
- Location: The Cincinnati Branch of the Cleveland Federal Reserve Bank is located at 150 East 4th Street, Cincinnati, Ohio, 45202.
- Program length: 1–1.5 hours.
- Audience: Tours are provided to teachers, school groups (grades 8–12), college students, and community groups upon request.
- Group size: Groups should not exceed 35 individuals (including chaperones for school groups).
- Cost: All tours are free of charge.

The Cincinnati Branch does not have on-site parking. However, there are parking lots and garages within a few blocks of the branch on Main Street and Vine Street. We do not validate parking.

- One week prior to your visit send an alphabetized list of ALL students, adults, and chaperones, with the first and last names to learningcenter@clev.frb.org. Please bring this list with you on the day of your visit. Any changes to the list must be made 24 hours in advance. No additions to the roster will be accepted on the day of the tour.
- Tour cancellations must be made 24 hours prior to the scheduled tour date by contacting learningcenter@clev.frb.org.

- Photography is not allowed in the Federal Reserve Bank building. This includes photos and videos taken by cell phones, digital cameras, or video cameras. Visitors will be asked to place their cell phones in a bin prior to entering the cash vault and can be reclaimed upon exiting the vault.
- A law enforcement officer will accompany each group as they tour the vault and cash processing areas.
