Who We Are
The Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland serves the Fourth Federal Reserve District, part of the Federal Reserve System, the central bank of the United States. To understand who we are and what we do, it helps to understand the role of the Federal Reserve System in general.
About the Federal Reserve System
The Federal Reserve System is the central bank of the United States. The Federal Reserve formulates and implements U.S. monetary policy, supervises banks and bank holding companies, and provides financial services to depository institutions and the federal government. The Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland is one of 12 regional Reserve Banks in the United States that, together with the Board of Governors in Washington, D.C., make up the Federal Reserve System.
The Cleveland Reserve Bank, including branch offices in Cincinnati and Pittsburgh, serves the Fourth Federal Reserve District (Ohio, western Pennsylvania, the northern panhandle of West Virginia, and eastern Kentucky). Read more
