Senior Vice President and Chief of Staff
Peggy Velimesis is a senior vice president and chief of staff at the Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland. She is responsible for the Executive Information function, the Board of Directors’ office, Human Resources, Human Resources Development, and Payroll. She is also director of the Bank’s Office of Minority and Women Inclusion (OMWI) and serves as the Bank’s Equal Employment Opportunity officer.
Ms. Velimesis joined the Cleveland Reserve Bank in 1996 as a vice president of Human Resources. She was appointed senior vice president in 2001 and assumed chief of staff responsibilities in 2010.
Prior to joining the Bank, Ms. Velimesis was vice president for a large health care organization. As a member of its executive management team, she had administrative responsibility for two hospitals, overseeing support functions such as human resources, training, quality, volunteers, staff services, and customer service.
Ms. Velimesis is a member of the Society of Human Resource Management, and she serves on the Human Resources Advisory Committee of United Way. She has served on a number of not-for-profit boards and advisory groups including the Employers Resource Council and the Children’s Hunger Alliance.
A native of Cleveland, Ohio, Ms. Velimesis earned her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in business administration from Cleveland State University. She has special expertise in labor/employee relations and change management.
