Student Economics Research Winners Announced
The second annual University of Akron and Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland Undergraduate Research Poster Competition was held on April 30, 2010. Undergraduate economics students from seven Ohio colleges presented original research on a variety of topics. Presentations were judged by Federal Reserve economists and an area economics professor.
The top presentations were:
- First Place: Zachary Easterling, a senior at the University of Akron, who explored "Asymmetric Information: A Physician Revenue Problem."
- Second Place: Nicole Barnett, a senior at Youngstown State University, presented "Casinos and Economic Growth."
- Third place: Jacob Rathjens, a senior at Oberlin College, explored "The Keys to Success: Why Height, Handedness, and Beauty Matter."
