For Teachers: Why bring your class to the Fed?

A field trip to the Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland Learning Center and Money Museum is the perfect companion to your curriculum. Visits may be customized, but a typical visit lasts about two hours and includes two parts:

Tour of the Money Museum

A docent will lead your class through more than 25 hands-on exhibits that enable students to discover answers to basic questions:

  • What is money?
  • Why do we have it?
  • How has it changed over time?
  • Who»s in charge of money?

Classroom-Style, Interactive Program

Your class will have a 45-minute interactive lesson in the Learning Center classroom on a topic of your choice, for example:

  • Inflation
  • Saving and spending
  • Barter
  • The Federal Reserve System

See a list of all topics.

Although the exhibits are designed for visitors of all ages, our education programs and activities are designed especially for students in grades 4 and up.
