Thomas Sohlberg Named Vice President of Human Resources for Cleveland Federal Reserve Bank

Thomas Sohlberg joined the Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland as vice president of Human Resources, effective July 16, 2012. He leads the Human Resource function and is responsible for developing strategic Bank policies and programs that support efforts to attract, develop, and retain talent.

Most recently, Sohlberg served as the principal consultant for his own human resources consulting firm. Previously, he held a variety of human resource positions with National City Corporation and Progressive Insurance. He also served as vice president of Solutions Management at Corporate College, a division of Cuyahoga Community College.

Sohlberg holds a bachelor's degree in political science from the University of South Florida in Tampa, Florida, and a master of public administration degree in human resources and health care administration from Texas Tech University in Lubbock, Texas.

The Federal Reserve System

The Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland is one of 12 regional Reserve Banks that, along with the Board of Governors in Washington, DC, comprise the Federal Reserve System. As the nation's central bank, the Federal Reserve System formulates US monetary policy, supervises certain banks and other financial institutions, and provides payment services to financial institutions and to the US government. Payment services include check clearing, electronic payments, and the distribution of currency and coin.

Fourth Federal Reserve District

The Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland, with branches in Cincinnati and Pittsburgh, serves the Fourth Federal Reserve District, which includes Ohio, western Pennsylvania, eastern Kentucky, and the northern panhandle of West Virginia.
