Submission Requirements

• An essay is a short literary composition. No other forms of writing will be accepted (plays, poetry, rap, etc.).
  
  
• Each student may submit only one essay.
  
  
• Essay may discuss not contain profanity, or pejorative or violent language, ideas, or themes.
  
  
• Each student must complete a Student Entry Form — signed by the student, parent or guardian, and teacher — and submit it with two copies of his or her essay. Essays will not be returned to the author.
  
  
• Essay may be no longer than three typed pages, double-spaced, single-sided, with one-inch margins. (Page limit does not include title page and bibliography.)
  
  
• Essays must include a title page containing the following information:
  • Essay title
  • Author's name
  • School name, address, telephone number
  • Teacher's name and e-mail address
    
    
• References to primary and secondary sources must be clearly identified.
