Overview

As regional planning increasingly influences funding, programming, policy, and land use patterns, what are the connections between smart sustainable growth and city neighborhoods, expanding suburbs, and rural communities? Join us for an exploration of the dynamics of smart growth, its impact, solutions, and new opportunities to strengthen cities of all sizes and create livable communities in the Midwest.

Speakers will discuss the role of community development practitioners in equitable regional approaches to development. Interactive sessions will share best practices and highlight innovative and practical solutions to smart community development in the areas of affordable and mixed-income housing, brownfields, education, planning, transportation, and workforce development.
