Ruth M. Clevenger

Vice President and Community Affairs Officer

 

Ruth Clevenger is the vice president and community affairs officer in the Corporate Communications and Community Affairs Department of the Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland.Her responsibilities include strategic direction and oversight of the Bank's community affairs office. She also develops, recommends, and directs programs to promote community development activities and fair and impartial access to credit in the Fourth Federal Reserve District.

Ms. Clevenger joined the Bank in August, 1995. She was promoted to assistant vice president and community affairs officer in 1998, and to vice president in October, 2002. She was appointed to the Bank’s Policy Advisory Committee in 2006. Prior to her joining the Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland, she was a Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) officer at KeyCorp in Cleveland. She began her banking career as marketing manager for the Corporate Banking Group at Ameritrust (KeyBank) in 1990. Before that, she worked for several nonprofit organizations in program development and public affairs. She currently serves on the Board of Directors of Cleveland Saves.

Ms. Clevenger has a bachelor's degree in social welfare from George Mason University and did graduate work in journalism at West Virginia University.
