Senior Vice President and General Counsel
William Fosnight is senior vice president and general counsel at the Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland. He is responsible for overseeing the Legal Department and providing corporate legal counsel and advice to the Bank. Mr. Fosnight also serves as the Bank’s ethics officer.
Mr. Fosnight joined the Bank in 1986 as an attorney and was named senior attorney in 1989. He was promoted to assistant vice president and assistant general counsel in 1994, vice president and associate general counsel in 2001, and to his current position in April, 2011. Before coming to the Bank, he was employed by the Federal Home Loan Bank of Cincinnati.
Mr. Fosnight received a bachelor’s degree in economics from Miami University of Ohio and a juris doctor degree from Case Western Reserve University School of Law. A native of Ravenna, Ohio, he now lives in Mantua, Ohio, where he is a member of the Rotary Club of Mantua.
